Thai Language and Culture
TSI students connect meaningfully with the language and culture of our host country. Thai language and Culture is a compulsory subject for students from Nursery to Year 9. This supports our Thai students in developing strong literacy skills while equipping expatriate students with practical, functional Thai for everyday life.
Cultural understanding is deepened through the celebration of Thai festivals and traditions across the school year, helping students build respect, awareness, and appreciation for the community in which they live and learn.
Thai is also offered as an IGCSE subject for our Thai national, providing a recognised academic pathway for continued language development.
Additional Languages (Punjabi, Hindi and Mandarin)
Mandarin, Hindi and Punjab are also offered as language options for TSI students in Years 1–11.
As a school, we recognise that learning an additional language strengthens cognitive flexibility, enhances problem-solving and communication skills, and nurtures intercultural understanding.
Our languages are taught by specialist teachers who cater for students of varying language abilities. During each school year, all TSI students participate in numerous cultural activities to celebrate special festivals from all over the world.
