Student Council – a Voice for Students
At TSIS we believe students have a voice and a contribution to make to our school. It is important that they be given the opportunity to express their views on issues of concern to them in the school. It is equally important that they are listened to and encouraged to take an active part in promoting the TSIS Mission and Core Values.
Elected by the student body, the TSIS Student Council includes the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Public Relations Officer and representatives for each class.
Working directly with the Headmaster, the TSIS Student Council meets on a weekly basis in their role to:
-
represent the interests of all students;
-
promote student-teacher understanding;
-
participate in community affairs that concern, involve, or affect our students; and above all,
-
to encourage students to become involved in the educational and social activities of TSIS.
Student Council members are expected to uphold, promote and support the goals, objectives and mission of the school, serve as a role model, leader and voice for the students.
This year, the activities of the Student Council has included organising a student camp, donation and fund-raising projects to help children in need, supporting student well-being initiatives, as well as assisting in school sporting and cultural activities.
